There used to be a store called the King Food Mart at MLK and Fremont Avenue in Northeast Portland. It was a little rough, but one day I really need a quick cola. This song was written after that experience.

down Fremont Ave. like a bullet gun
step inside the King Food Mart
and order one of their special slurries

who sells strange powders from his hand
